My research focuses on English syntax and the interaction between syntax and semantics, also known as syntax–semantics interface, within the framework of Generative Grammar. I am trying to gain insight into linguistic knowledge, a grammar that exists within the minds of native English speakers. I also hope to throw further light on the nature of the faculty of language through the thorough exploration of the English language supplemented by comparisons with other languages. Recently I have been investigating ellipsis in the English language with the aim of revealing mechanisms employed in the speakers’ reconstruction of the omitted parts.
