I wanted to help foreigners learn Japanese when I was young, so I studied foreign language teaching, Japanese grammar and other related subjects. At the time I dreamed of teaching Japanese abroad. But before long I grew to love language studies and decided to become a researcher instead of a Japanese language teacher. Therefore I entered graduate school, where I explored syntax, problems of language and thought, etc.
Recently I have become interested in the structure of the idle talk that we usually engage in so nonchalantly. My research interests also include the structure of dialogues and negotiation processes in foreign languages. It is wonderful to experience foreign customs first-handedly, so I have already visited many countries. Sport is another hobby, and, in fact, I am a licensed rescue diver. So far I have dived in the Indian Ocean and the Red Sea.
