The Graduate School of Arts and Letters at Tohoku University is a single faculty of the humanities and social sciences with 25 fields of specialization. From their second year, students join one of these fields and take classes, deepening their learning while in contact with instructors and graduate students and completing a graduate thesis or graduate research in their fourth year.
